This is a really cool idea for your child development, or adolescence, or even life-span development class. The author provides a detailed description of how to use letters with your students and children. Katz states "This article discusses a creative, interactive assignment for developmental psychology student and children that takes minimal classroom time, fosters greater understanding of children, and is enjoyable." (p. 113).
