Based on IQ tests, women are now officially smarter than men (The Star, 7/16/2012) (Thanks to Christopher Green via TIPS)

"It’s official. Women are smarter than men. For the first time in history, western women are scoring higher than men on IQ tests, according to Professor James Flynn, a widely recognized authority on intelligence quotient testing." Could be used as a discussion launcher.

See also http://www.learnpsychology.com/movies/menwomenIQsm.mov or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7N9ckIn7nE&feature=plcp for a CNN video "Are Men Smarter?"

Can use to segue into statistical significance (i.e., "3 point difference to be statistically significant using samples of 50,000"), effect size, extrapolation of SAT scores to IQ. (Thanks to Mike Williams via TIPS)
